Chapter 1
There is a legend… a legend, three heroes to rise and defeat the evil warlord Varron… but I don’t believe in destiny. In the land Marowin, I lived in a small cottage in the country side. Farming the crops was hard work, but I managed. I am Eric Farren. The old cottage had holes and mold with a smell of muddy pigs.
“Now this carrot goes here… and this… goes here… go away rabbit! You’re too cute!” I yelled.
“ERIC!” my father called. “Time for practice!”
My father always makes me practice with a sword so I can protect myself from Varron’s men. My father is a short man, goatee and a bald head with hilarious personality. I live alone with him, mother died by cancer, I was too young to know my mom and father doesn’t like to talk about it.
I held my wooden sword and took my stance, so did my father. He charged and blocked an ankle slash. I gave a good slash to shoulder.
“You’re getting good!” He exclaimed.
“HA!” I in a way replied.
He gave me a good stab to the chest.
“Now you lost.”
“Yep.”
“Go to the market, get some food.”
At the market the king’s men rode into town, with bloody swords and holding a head of a bear, black armor that makes you cringe of fear. The horse’s feet clipped, clopped on the dirty, badge bricks of the road.
“MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, PEASENTS!” They screamed nastily.
“Why do we have to listen to you?” A woman asked while shaking and talking slowly.
“Because of this!” He slashed his sword. I closed my eyes.
“AAAAAHHHHHHH!” People screamed.
“KNEEL! KNEEL!” The King’s men screamed.
We all kneeled and stayed there for two hours.
I ran back home but before I got there an owl swooped down a gave me a letter. It read:
There is a legend. The legend is a story about three heroes who will defeat the evil warlord, Varron. You are one of those heroes.
-People in the Sky
“The gods sent me a letter? Plus I don’t believe in destiny.” Then I saw a fire in the distance… the cottage. I dropped the letter and ran forgetting everything else.
“DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD!” I yelled. I tripped and scraped my face with a stick. The blood dribbled down my cheek. I got up and ran. When I got there the King’s men were burning the house. One man ran up to me and everything turned black.
Chapter 2
I woke up in the grassy, and ashy field next to the house. As I got up I coughed. I walked slowly to the house and saw a burnt corpse of a small man… father. My eyes got watery and rain fell. Then rage, anger, ambition and revenge replaced sadness. My father kept a silver sword in a chest; I should be able to get it now that chest burned down. I looked around the ashy, burnt house and saw a shining sword. When I picked up the sword the metal burned my skin.
“Algh!” I yelled.
I looked to the town fire was raging and people were screaming. I ran to the town. Time to fight, I took up my sword and charged. When I got there one of the Knights tried to give me a head chop, but I dodged and counter attacked. He tried to give me a stab, but blocked and gave him a slice to the shin. He fell to the ground and I gave a kick to the head. A knight tried to back stab me but I ducked and gave him a slice to the chest. He tried to give me a chop but ducked and kicked him on the chest and fell backwards. A horse ran through the town and I jumped on his back to go to find some partners to fulfill the legend as it was foretold.
I arrived at the Elven gates of Marowin. Arah was the name of the Elven kingdom. I greeted the guards.
“Are you one of Varron’s men?” One of the guards asked.
“If I was I would have killed you already.” I replied.
They nodded and let me past. A woman approached me, my age. Pretty, Auburn Hair, pointy ears and green eyes. She said:
“He is the one from the legend, as so I.”
“You got a letter?” I asked.
“Yes.”
“Will you join me on-“
“Yes.”
“Well good, do you have some-“
“Yes.”
Are you going to answer yes to every question I ask?”
“Yes, I mean No.”
“Good.”
“Bring this boy food he looks hungry.”
“Okay. *clears throat.* What is your name?”
“Terra.”
“Let’s go?”
“Yes.”
Chapter 3
We rode into the sun set, heading for the dwarven kingdom.
The horses’ feet knocked on the bricks of the path. Terra smiled at me as we waved through the air. It turned night and we stopped next to a waterfall.
“Let’s camp here.” I exclaimed.
We set up the tent and the fire. Terra shot a deer from five miles away, dinner!
As we ate she told me her mother died when she was young.
She told me: "‘War is terrible, defending is wonderful.’” Terra said.
“My father, died yesterday.” I told her.
“How?”
“Knights.”
“ARRRGHHHH! That stupid king-“
“Well were going to-“
“I know!”
“Okay, well it’s pretty late, we should-“
“Shut up!”
“Oh… sorry.”
“No I’m sorry, maybe I’m just tired.” She climbed into her tent.
“Okay then.” *clears throat*I climbed into my tent and fell asleep.
I woke up smelling a cooked deer. I got out and saw Terra taking a bite out of a deer leg.
“Good, morning.” She said smiling with a mouth full of venison.
“Hi.” I replied stupidly.
“Have some deer!”
“Okay.”
“So, I’m sorry about last night.”
“Oh, it’s fin-“
“No, it’s not I was rude, it’s just-“
“Seriously, it’s fine.
“Okay.”
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
“What was that?” I whispered.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSS SSS
“A snake?” Terra wondered.
“Could be, but why is it so loud?”
Then a giant snake emerged from the forest.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
“RUN!”
We ran, the snake slithered over the tents crushing our stuff.
I left my sword in my tent!
“Oh, great.” I sarcastically exclaimed.
“What?!?” Terra yelled.
“Our weapons!”
“Your weapons.” She corrected. She took out her bow and shot an arrow in the snake’s eye.
HIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS RRAAARRGHHH!
“That thing is angry!” I yelled. I turned around the snake following me. Its fangs, ready to strike. I ran to the tent and grabbed the sword. It started to strike but I slashed its forehead.
HIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS RRAAAARRGHHHH!
“HA! You stupid beast!” I yelled.
It bared its fangs and spit, a squirrel got splattered by the spit and burned to death. The snake slithered around me and started to squeeze my body tight.
“Ahhh! It hurts!” Then opened its mouth wide and swallowed me whole. I was pushed down the esophagus into the stomach.
The stomach acids burned my boots.
“Ow! Ow! Ow!” I yelled. I still had my sword; I stuck my sword through the back of the beast.
RRRRRAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I made a four foot hole in the back of the monster and jumped out of the hole. I landed on the ground, dripping snake barf.
“Ew.” Terra said covering her mouth.
“Yes, ew. Ew indeed.” I responded.
Chapter 4
We kept walking towards the dwarven kingdom, after a few hours of walking. When we finally arrived the guards asked:
“What are you here for?”
“We are here to find the third member to our team for the legend… and we need him to… can you… um… yeah.” I said stupidly.
“Bring him to us at once!” Terra yelled obviously agitated.
“You cannot order us!” the guards yelled pointing there axes at us.
“I am the princess of Arah!”
I leaned in to speak into Terra’s ear. “You didn’t tell you were a princess.”
“I didn’t? Sorry.” She whispered.
“Sorry ma’am.” The guards said straitening a letting her pass.
When I was going past they blocked the way with their axes.
“Sorry you cannot go through here.” The guards said laughing.
Terra walked and I stayed.
I spent an hour waiting with the guards creepily staring at me.
Terra finally walked out with a dwarf. The dwarf was wearing iron armor and a helmet with a monocle coming out of the helmet.
“I am Boromack.” He said.
“Let’s go-”
“Eric! Introduce…” Terra told me.
“Oh… I am Eric Farren.”
“Hello.”
“Let’s go…”
We were walking and walking and walking until night fell. We stopped at a inn called Big Boar Inn. We walked in feeling like a sack of tulips.
“It’s the children of the legend! Your destiny awaits!” the barman yelled happily.
“There is no such thing in destiny.” I told him very annoyed.
“Oh, well… come in, sleep, eat and drink.”
“Excuse me?”
“No? Well-“
“Stop, just stop!”
“Eh.”
“Sorry, here’s some gold for the stay.”
“Thank you.”
We went upstairs and talked about the legend.
“Pfft, no destiny? You a stupid boy?” Boromack asked.
“So we have to kill Varron?” I asked curiously.
“I don’t know.” Terra replied.
“I WANT TO!” Boromack yelled.
“Too bad, were not going to kill-“
“Well I am.” I interrupted.
“What?” Terra asked.
“He told the knights to kill my father! I want-“
“ERIC! What the… is wrong with you?”
“Terra-“
“I am proud of you… stupid boy.” Boromack told me.
“Well-“ I started.
CRASH!
“Was that glass shattering?” Boromack asked.
We went inside the lobby, three men with black leather armor walked in.
CRRRREEEEEEEEEEEK!
Went the floor as their muddy boots hit the floor.
VVVRRROOOSSSSHHHHKKK! BUMBUMBU!
Went the lightning outside.
“KILL EM’ ALL!” yelled the man in the middle.
He walked toward us and charged. The others went towards my partners. He tried to give me a head chop, but ducked and gave him a slice to the legs. But he blocked and counterattacked. I elbowed him in the face and some teeth splattered out of his mouth. I hit him in the head with the butt of my sword and got knocked out.
“EEEEHH!” Terra yelled.
The guy she was fighting was about to strike her. I ran in front of her.
SSSLLIIIICCCCEE.
I looked down and saw a blade in my stomach. Terra shot an arrow in the man’s chest and he fell to the ground. The guy Boromack was fighting threw bombs on the ground.
“RUN!” I yelled. I ripped the sword out of me and ran with my friends with me. We barged out of the door and jumped just in time to miss the explosion.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!
Fire was raging then everything was getting darker, blood was in the water from the rain, the mud turned red and everything went black.
Chapter 5
I woke up in a stone brick tower. It smelled like grapes and raspberries. The walls were moldy and mossy. Everywhere I looked were bottles of… whatever it is, all different colors. I wasn’t wearing a shirt and there was some white cloth around my injury. In the corner was a robe and staff with a crystal on top.
I’m in a wizard tower. I thought.
Terra walked in.
“A man named Varlin, a wizard, he helped you.” She told me.
“Yeah, I feel much better now.” I replied.
“Good. Back there…”
“It’s okay, don’t mention it.”
“’Don’t mention it?’ You saved my life! Thank you.” She kissed me on the forehead. I blushed.
A man in a blue sweater came down from the stairs, bit older than me, purple eyes, and sandy blonde hair.
“Hello, you took a risk there almost dying. Your friends convinced me to help you. I didn’t want, I’d rather let you die until I found out you were the one from the legend. It is possible for you to die, there is no such thing in destiny. And I’m not mocking.” He said.
I smiled.
“Well, I got the letter from… them.” Varlin continued.
“No you didn’t, he did.” She pointed to Boromack.
“He lies.”
“No, you lie.”
“Well either way I’m coming with you.”
“No, I don’t trust you.”
“Then why did you let me help Eric.”
“That was before you lied.”
“I didn’t kill him did I? Why do you assume I lie? Again whether you like it or not… I am coming with you.”
“I’m okay with it.” I said.
Boromack shifted uncomfortably.
“FINE!” Yelled Terra. She charged outside.
“She seems nice.” Varlin exclaimed.
I got my armor and walked outside, we walked towards Varrons castle. In the distance the black castle made me cringe, and shiver. We walked and walked and walked and walked until I stepped and fell in a hole in the ground.
FLOOOP!
THUD!
“Ow!” I yelled.
“You okay?” asked Varlin.
“Yes. Maybe? No?”
I looked over to my right and saw a cave with a sleeping dragon, near it was my sword glimmering.
“My sword is near a dragon!” I whispered.
“Oh, then get it.” Varlin whispered back.
I tip toed to the glimmering sword. Waterfalls were at the back of the cave. I picked the sword and it glimmered over the eyelids of the dragon… the eye of the dragon opened.
RRRRRROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!
He got up breathed fire towards me I dodged. My friends came down. Terra shot arrows, Boromack started to chop the down the legs and Varlin started shooting fireballs and lightning, I love magic. The dragon kicked Boromack towards the wall, his monocle broke and shattered. The dragon breathed fire at Terra and she dodged. I charged a started slashing the legs, I dodged a kick and slashed at the belly.
RRRRRROOOOOAAAAARRR!
It tried to bite me but I grabbed on to one of its teeth, it threw me up to a ledge. While people were fighting I got an idea. The dragon breathed fire with its neck down. I jumped off the ledge and chopped off the head of a dragon. I fell on top off the dragon’s body getting a cushioned land.
“Wow.” We all said at the same time, except for Boromack.
Chapter 6
We kept walking through the grasslands until we found a forest high in the mountains, my hands froze, I cried and my tears became solid on my face. As we went on a storm erupted. Snow and hail swerved around as we went higher up the mountain and out of the forest.
WWOOOOOORRRRGGGHHHH! Cried the wind.
“E-e-e-Eric! Too c-c-c-cold!” Terra yelled.
I saw a cave out of ice. “In there!” We all rushed inside. The ice cave went on and one.
“Looks like a short cut through the mountain.” Exclaimed Varlin.
“Yeah, let’s go!” I yelled.
“Don’t go on!” Yelled a strange voice. “He’ll kill you!”
I turned to the corner; a blonde man shivering was on the ground in rags.
“Are you okay?” Terra asked.
“Don’t go on, he’ll kill you!”
“Who?” I asked.
“The i-i-ice wizard!”
“Then come with us!”
“Okay.”
We kept walking through the cave. Then an icicle erupted from the wall.
“WHOA!” I yelled. “Turn!” We turned and another erupted.
“RUN!” We all said. We ran dodging all the icicles from the wall. Basically the icicles were chasing us. The man was running slow. Then the icicles erupted from the walls right where the man was.
“No!” I yelled. Now icicles came from the ceilings. As we ran we saw an ice door. “In there.” I told them.
When we went inside a man with white hair and pale skin, blue eyes and an blue robe was sitting an ice throne.
“One down three to- wait one minute there are four of you… what is going on? There are only three from the legend.” He said.
“One of us is lying about getting the letter.” Terra said. “Why do you care?”
“Well first off, hello! I am Izen! The ice wizard! Varron told me to kill you so, pretty much explains.”
“Show us the way out!” I yelled. I held my sword at his neck.
“Oh… eeeh.” He exclaimed nervously. He pointed away and disappeared in a flash of light. We walked out.
We have reached our destination.
Chapter 7
We reached the bottom of the castle. The castle guards let us in, they knew Varron wanted to kill us. We climbed the stairs and reached Varron himself. He wore a black robe and had black hair with a long beard. He held a staff/Sword.
“Finally you have come heroes and my son.” Varron said evilly.
“We have come to- wait son?” I asked curiously.
“Varlin… my son.”
“Father you have killed and-“
“Won’t you join my side?” Varron said.
I turned to Varlin. “You didn’t tell me.”
“I know, my business.”
“Now I will kill you all but first… my servant Boromack.
“My master.” Boromack kneeled and walked over to Varron and slashed Varlin.
“VARLIN!” Terra and I yelled.
Boromack hit us out of the castle with his big war hammer, we landed about a hundred yards away. Then the worst thing happened. At the top of the castle it grew holes, three, like a mouth and eyes. The base of the castle split into five creating arms, legs and a head, where Varron stood. The giant stood up blocking the sun in the ashy, black clouds in the sky.
“Oh, Fu-“ Before I could finish the giant smacked me and flew through the air landing hard on my back. The giant walked over to me and stomped on me, punched me, smacked me, kicked me.
“WHY WON’T YOU DIE!” Yelled Varron from the giant’s mouth. The giant picked me up and started to crush me.
I started to give up letting him crush me. But how am I not dead?
Then I felt stronger and godly, my injuries healed with sparkling gold, energy clouded around me with all my strength, I burst out of the hand with all my strength. The gods have blessed me!
“What?” Yelled Varron.
“The legend foretold… but there is no such thing in destiny. It is my choice that I want to defeat you… the gods bless me for that.” I told him.
“No!”
I jumped inside the castle. The godlyness-if that's a word- faded and I pointed my sword towards his neck.
“Varron.”
“Do it! Kill me! You can do it can you?”
Varlin was secretly healing himself.
“I’m not a monster. But I will take you to justice.”
I walked away. I realized I can't kill anybody, what would be the point? I would as evil as Varron. Then Varron shot a fire ball but Varlin blocked and sent Varron flying out the window and falling towards his doom. Very faintly I heard a crack. I smiled a Varlin. I looked at Boromack… Then the castle started to rumble, the entire place was collapsing, rocks and stone fell from the ceilings.
"Varlin?!" I yelled.
"Jump out!" He called out.
We both jumped out the window. Boromack stayed behind us, a big boulder fell from above him and squished him flat. SPLAT!
We fell towards the ground as the castle crumbled to nothing but a VERY BIG pile of rocks. Varlin slowed our fall with magic. We hit the ground. I panting and panting and panting and panting and so-on.
Varlin and I laughed and fell to the ground.
Chapter 8
Well this where the story ends. Varlin became my friend and won the number one wizard contest. At the beach, I put my hand on Terra's cheek and...
"HEEEEEEELLLLLP!!" someone yelled from behind us.
Terra and I got distracted and nodded. We got up and ran toward the voice.
So what do you think I’m gonna say now?
The End… I think. I hope.
